Alpha sends an Eagle on a survey mission to the planet Retha, but when the ship returns the crew are missing and the only occupant appears to be a dead caveman. Faced with a bizarre mystery, Commander Koenig and Doctor Russell lead a rescue team to the planet surface, only to disappear as well. Alan Carter is then attacked by cavemen, while Sandra is captured by the primitives and taken to their cave. A fight breaks out between the tribe’s chief and another caveman, who have both taken an interest in Sandra. But to Sandra’s horror, she suddenly realises that the chief and his mate are actually Koenig and Doctor Russell, somehow regressed to a primitive state…
