Inside the Moon’s catacombs Chief engineer Patrick Osgood is desperately searching for the rare metal tiranium, needed for Moonbase Alpha's life support system, and for the construction of an artificial heart urgently needed by his wife Michelle. However, the stress causes Osgood’s mind to become unbalanced, and he begins to see visions of the destruction of Alpha; then, growing sceptical of Doctor Russell’s ability to save the life of his wife, Osgood wires himself up with explosives and forces Doctor Russell to release her. He carries her into the catacombs, the only place he believes will be safe from the holocaust he has foreseen. While Verdeschi mounts a search party to rescue Michelle, Commander Koenig realises that Osgood's visions are coming true - a massive firestorm is now heading straight for the Moon…
